Safe Motherhood in Nepal

Planning of roads, bridges and positioning of health facility buildings does not adequately consider the needs of mothers. As a result many women are unable to reach a health facility easily for routine maternal health care or in an emergency. This discourages them from using services and causes potentially fatal delays.
