A nonprofit organization specifically created for this purpose as well as an honorific membership organization, the IOM was chartered in 1970 as a component of the National Academy of Sciences. The Institute provides a vital service by working outside the framework of government to ensure scientifically informed analysis and independent guidance.   • Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (NESOG), is a professional organization of obstetricians and gynecologists established in the year 1989 A.D. There are total 190 life members and eight honorary life members. NESOG has been continuously working in the improvement of reproductive health, adolescent health in Nepal and to contribute to such efforts in the region. The society is a member of the Asia Oceana Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOFOG), International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FIGO) and South Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SAFOG). To achieve the goals, NESOG work very closely with the Ministry of Health, HMG of Nepal and other development partners like WHO, UNICEF, NSMP, NFHP (Engender Health and JHPIEGO).The society is also a member of the Safe Motherhood Network. The society is also an affiliate institution with Nepal Health Research Council and has contributed to obtaining the Rockefeller Foundation award. ....
