Equity and Access Programme Final Dissemination

The ActionAid contract for managing equity and access activities in eight districts, plus mass media inputs in two districts, ended on 31^st September. A final dissemination of field experiences and learning was held at the Malla Hotel on 18^th September, attended by representatives of the government and I/NGO partners. Mr Khemraj Upadhyaya, ActionAid Head of Programmes welcomed participants and Ms Bindu Gautam, acting EAP Team Leader reviewed programme learning and achievements. Mr Shailesh Neupane, from Valley Research Group, presented initial findings from the end-line Knowledge Attitudes and Practices survey, which highlighted significant increases in maternal health service utilisation and knowledge about maternal and newborn health in programme districts. A full report of the survey will be available soon on this website. ActionAid has also produced a series of briefing notes summarising programme learning related to specific topics such as capacity building, social inclusion, impact on health services, voice and empowerment and partner selection.
