Review and evaluation of JHU/ CCP support

Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health/ Centre for Communication Programs (JHU/ CCP) was contracted by Options Consultancy Services as a partner in SSMP from January 2006 to September 2008. The role of JHU/ CCP was to provide technical assistance to the National Health Education, Information and Communication Centre (NHEICC) and other SSMP implementing partners in Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) development. This included development of a national BCC strategy and standard content for safe motherhood and newborn health messages, a range of communication tools and materials and localisation of BCC materials and media to make them more accessible to district populations. JHU/ CCP worked closely with ActionAid Nepal, which manages the SSMP Equity and Access Programme (EAP) in eight selected districts and mass media interventions in a further two.
 
Following the end of their agreement with Options, an evaluation of the work of JHU/ CCP was carried out. The report “An Evaluation of JHU/ CCP Support under SSMP” is available in the resources section, under consultancy reports.
