Localized BCC - Posters for Dadeldhura District

Two posters: one to promote Postnatal Care and another to promote family supporting women during delivery were recently developed in Dadeldhura district in the far west region of Nepal. These BCC materials address very specific local issues in the local context. Postnatal care is low in the district, so the first poster promotes the three postnatal check ups at the health facility and timing.   Also, Dadeldhura is a very traditional district where there is less support from husbands and mothers-in-law, most women deliver at home in the cowshed and no one touches a woman or the baby for at least 11 days after delivery. This second poster depicting a happy family walking home together after an institutional delivery emphasizes the importance and benefit of family support.  The materials were developed, pre-tested and produced in coordination with EAP/Dadeldhura, JHU/CCP-SSMP and the District Health Office, Dadeldhura.
