Under the NAWRN Programme (Network for Addressing Women’s Reproductive Rights in Nepal), supported by Planned Parenthood Federation of America-Inc (PPFA-I), one of the partners, Forum for Women Law and Development (FWLD), has developed new advocacy materials to increase public understanding about the abortion law in Nepal and women’s legal rights:
- A user’s manual on the effective implementation of the abortion law, which is intended primarily for law enforcers, service providers and supporting agencies and provides practical information on the abortion law, services and women’s rights
- A leaflet providing factual information for the general public on abortion and women’s rights
These Nepali language publications can be obtained directly from Forum for Women Law and Development (fwld@fwld.wlink.com.np). NAWRN comprises four Nepal partners: Centre for Research in Environment Health and Population Activities (CREHPA), Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN), FWLD and Safe Motherhood Network Federation (SMNF), and has the aim of increasing access to safe abortion services in Nepal and increased awareness of the abortion law.
